Happy Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Harper’s 5th birthday. It was a great day. The birthday celebrations actually started on Monday night after dinner. Julie and I spent some time with Harper, praying over her, blessing her, and looking through pictures of her last four birthdays. It was a good night. Yesterday after school we spent time opening gifts. We let her pick the dinner menu which meant pancakes, scrambled eggs, and strawberries with whip cream. After dinner we celebrated with the cake she had picked out from the store. I think she had a wonderful day.
Harper is an amazing girl. She has such a sweet spirit. She’s very concerned about the well-being of those around her, especially her brother. She has adjusted really well to being in a new home, a new school, and away from grandparents and friends. It’s hard to imagine that it’s been five years since we came home from the hospital with her. We are extremely blessed.
