Well, yesterday marked the 2 week countdown to my partaking in the 2008 Dragon Ride. Cycling is pretty big over here, maybe even more so on the continent (places like France and Spain). Throughout the UK from March to October there are tons of cyclosportives to enter and take part in. A cyclosportive is an organized event, but not necessarily a race. All riders have their own number and their time will be tracked. I’m guessing they give out something to the top finishers.

My goal is to enter and ride in 3 cyclosportives this year. The Dragon Ride is my first. I opted to take part in the shorter of the 2 distances that are offered for the event. I’ll be riding 120km (74.5 miles). The longer distance is 180km (111 miles), but I thought that might be a bit much for my first sportive.
