Rat and Mouse

Julie asked Brooks a couple of days ago to draw a little picture for one of the small frames in his room. After he drew it he painted it with watercolors and then Julie traced over his drawing so that it would stand out a little.

When we asked him what he had drawn he told us “a rat and a mouse”. So, I present to you “Rat and Mouse”, as painted by Brooks, age 3.

Don’t be surprised if you see Rat and Mouse showing up in various places around the city of Cardiff in the coming weeks.

Cheers.

I’m Not Joking

For those of you that I maintain regular contact with through email and Skype, I know you may get tired of me going on about how bad the weather is here. Well, it seems I now have proof that the weather is as bad as I’ve said it is. Here’s an article from the BBC (Read for yourself).

Just a couple of highlights from the article:

  • lowest amount of sunshine for the month of August since 1929…only 105 hours of sunshine for the entire month
  • 5th wettest August on record

And while the article goes on to say that things are expected to get better in the fall (warmer temps and less rain), I’m not holding my breath.

On a serious note – the weather does affect us (both me and Julie) after a while. And I understand that this may be hard to grasp for those of you in the sunny state of Texas. But when you think of us say a quick prayer that we would be able to cope with the weather…without it driving us nuts.
